Ummm Really? February 18, 2010

Hey ya’ll,

Been in a real blogging mood hence the daily updates. Normally I don’t update this often cuz there’s nothing really knew to discuss… coffee, fruit, protein shake, yogurt, afternoon coffee and something healthy for dinner… work-out… “AND SCENE!” But lately I’ve had things pop in to my head that I’d like to share with you and I’ve been actively taking pictures.

So remember how I mentioned my crazy cooking mother? Okay so the pie has officially been devoured (not by me thank goodness). When I came home from class today I opened the door to the house and was bum rushed by the over whelming scent of baked goods….

Oh common!

Well geeze! No wonder my family is obese, diabetic and heart disease ridden! When you’ve got random loaves of fresh-baked goodness how on earth is anyone supposed to lose weight!? What you don’t see off camera is a bowl of melted butter with a basting brush and a tub of honey that my father used to eat the first couple slices… I’m sure his blood glucose readings were awesome!

Now I’m not going to totally poo-poo the bread. It is whole grain, has some pretty healthy stuff like flax seeds, whole oats and rye… so it’s not totally evil. But bread is a total weakness of mine and in the right state of mind and hunger I could have sat down and buttered up that whole loaf and downed it! I had a piece with a bit of my smart balance butter. MMMMM…. walk away from the bread Christy…

Last night for dinner I heated up a left over chicken burger that I had in the freezer. Grilled up a pineapple ring (from an actual pineapple, not canned). Set the burger on top of the pineapple, drizzled a little garlic aoli and some pickle slices. NOM! Totally yummy. Hit the spot for the PMS cravings of salty sweet stuff. I actually weighed myself this morning because curiosity was getting the better of me. I was pleasantly surprised with a 0.2 lb loss. That’s good, all things considered.

I’ll be good to go once the monthly curse is gone and I can do some work-outs. Well that’s pretty much it for today. I have a big test tonight so I probably won’t eat very much because my nerves get the best of me. That’s all I’d need is for my stomach to make some god awful noise in the middle of a test while everyone is quiet.

    The bread looks NOM for sure!
    As far as your monthly curse and work outs. Don’t forget working out will help with the pain. Seriously 🙂

  2. With all the doggone snow we have gotten recently I am stuck indoors, fortunately there is the internet, thanks for giving me something to do. 🙂
